I have this little black book I carry everywhere in my purse, it’s small, tattered and to most people looks like it is filled with junk, but to me it’s important. See…a few years ago (ok…like 15) when I wrote my first book I strived to be just like everyone else. I thought conformity is what the world wanted, (an a-typical 3 part story with exactly 2 upsets and 1 very dramatic ending.) Then one day when I was curled up in a chair in the library I spotted (laying on the floor in a corner) this beautifully bound book

Afternoon! Today’s review is a double whammy for me. Not only is it written by one of my favorite book bloggers out there, but it is of a book that I love by an author I adore. Big Al has been an avid reader for more decades than he would care to admit. (*giggle) He was best known for his music reviews, which spanned a variety of websites and magazines, until 1 day the big bad world of books caught up with him. (YAY!) How? Well, after having several readers and authors tell him, “You ought to start a book blog,” he said, “what

Morning Everyone, I wouldn’t normally post an interview with a literary agent, but I thought… what the hey! It’s interesting and informative, therefore it couldn’t hurt. Mollie (very recently) took on the job of representing one of KO’s most beloved authors Imogen Rose (The Portal Chronicles) so let’s be sure to show her some love. I present to you: “Words with Mollie!” Q: Is Imogen the first indie author you have represented? Please share how you found each other. A: Years ago, when I worked on the editorial side at Random House, I was lucky enough to

For someone that reads as much as I do, it’s nice (every once and a while) to settle in for the night with a nice familiar author; an author I KNOW can write an entertaining and captivating story; so when the opportunity presented itself to read “Faustine” the first book in the “Bonfire Chronicles” by the lovely Imogen Rose, I jumped at the chance to get my grubby little paws on it. I have never been shy with my adoration of Rose’s ability to connect with her readers through her work, so my continued appreciation for her new venture should

A few months ago I read “Portal” by Imogen Rose and loved it. Quickly after it’s conclusion, however, I became apprehensive about reading “Equilibrium” (book 2 in the series.) Why? Well that’s simple. After reading not 1 but 4 different “#2′s” last year, (and being disappointed by each and every one of them) I didn’t want to ruin my love for Rose’s characters. Now, while some of y’all are probably screaming at me for not having faith in the author (or her ability to deliver a successful second book) I assure you that was not the case. The problem actually

I have been sitting on this book for a while now (4 months to be exact) and I have to say “shame on me.” See… I have this problem (it’s actually much worse than the OCD thing) it’s the inability to read what I’m told. Yes.. I know… this entire statement is completely ludicrous since I spend most of my time telling all of you what to read. (deal with it) See… when I was a junior in high school I was forced to read “A Farewell To Arms” by Earnest Hemingway and I hated it. Not the “reading” but
