Endurance Wins The Race

13649264

Quote This… “Sometimes the happiest pace of all is sitting still”   If thirty-year-old Megan were any more of a doormat, she’d have footprints on her back. She helps anyone and everyone, no matter the cost to herself, and she’s always been that way. Even the thought of withholding her assistance makes her feel sick. Worse, it makes her feel like she’s a bad person, selfish and unkind. She takes up running purely to avoid gaining weight, but as she trains with her cute but heartbroken coach Andrew she becomes more able to do things she’d never thought she

Waking Up Naked

blank

So, I’m just going to go ahead and dub this week “I don’t know who the hell I am!” week, seeing as how all but 1 book I’ll be talking about this week is riddled with amnesia, (yeah…weird) Anyways, I am a super huge goober fan of Heather’s and have been for a while now, (especially since she named a character after me!) so when she emailed me over the holidays and practically begged, (ok…maybe it wasn’t quite that dramatic) to read her next novel “Blank Slate Kate” I couldn’t refuse. Here is the thing, Heather is fantastic with emotional

Ender’s Game – A Guest Review

Happy Friday everyone!!!  Today’s guest review is brought to you by the very lovely, (incredibly talented,) Heather Wardell.  Most of you should be fairly aquainted with her by now, (I have reviewed several of her books,) but if not, take the time to do so. She has written 5 novels including “Go Small or Go Home” “Seven Exes are Eight too Many” and the awe inspiring “Planning to Live,” but more importantly she makes playing in an orchastra sound like fun. Happy Reading!   Click image for details Guest Review: Ender’s Game   Andrew Wiggin, called Ender because his sister couldn’t pronounce Andrew

Finding My Strength

Yesterday, very shortly after posting my “Dear Author’s…” rant, I was contacted by Heather Wardell, (one of my favorite authors.) “Read Planning to Live” she said, throwing down her personal shiny gauntlet; challenging me to NOT connect with her characters. So I did. I pulled out my kindle, loaded the book and started reading, unfortunately…after 1 paragraph I remembered what the book was about and freaked. I picked up my Kindle, shoved it into my bag and quickly left the room. I then sprinted to the bathroom (of a very large, very busy car dealership) and proceeded to splash water

Get Into The Mind Of Heather Wardell

Most of y’all have heard me spew beautiful adjectives about  Heathers work before, but I’m guessing there is a side of her you have yet to meet.  So today, on the book birthday of her very much anticipated novel “Planning to Live” I let you see the side of her she wishes I never would have exposed.  Brace yourselves people…it’s about to get deep in here. KO:   Before we get down to the nitty gritty I have one very important question to ask you.  Being a self proclaimed (cause lord I couldn’t make this shit up) Meat Loaf fan.

Paging Melodramatic Blondes!

cover-seven

I am not a fan of reality TV. I’d rather keep out the Kardashian’s than keep up with them, and just the thought of shows like Jersey Shore make me question society’s mental stability. There’s no denying that they have taken over main stream media, (hell… I can’t even go 10 minutes without seeing a tweet about Snookie) but what happens when it trickles over into literature? Madeleine-Cora is a private person… or at least she was until one night she tried extreme drinking and as a result signed up for a television dating game. No problem right? Put on

Mascots Rule!

When I was in my early twenties I spent the majority of my time with my head shoved into a romance novel.  Roberts and Steele were my constant companions. I devoured everything they ever wrote, and then spent months waiting (not so patiently) for their next novel, but then one day my need for romance dropped off, and my constant need for action and mystery kicked into gear. It was not until I finished “Go Small or Go Home” that I realized I missed the complexities of broken hearts and the journeys people encounter to repair them. Tess is a
